People Positive

People Positive – a Facilities Directorate initiative

What is People Positive?

The People Positive initiative is part of the Facilities Directorate’s commitment to developing an inclusive culture. This means that when everyone in the FD comes to work they feel they belong, can be themselves, and feel happy and safe.

The first part of the initiative was the Professional Behaviours workshops. These outlined how we can all contribute towards creating a more inclusive culture in the FD, and received positive feedback from participants.

Creating a comfortable working environment is a joint effort, not just a management or HR responsibility, and asking everyone to speak up about unacceptable behaviour is a part of this.

Background

People Positive ties in directly to the first aim in our business plan – Our Way Ahead – to develop our culture so that people can thrive and succeed.

What’s next?

Focus groups will also be scheduled in 2025-26 to gather further details from staff about the impact the behaviours workshop is having on them.

An FD Leadership Behaviours Framework is being developed with input from a cross section of FD staff.
